Four killed, dozens injured as tornado storm hits Sialkot
SIALKOT, As many as four persons were reportedly killed and the dozens of the local villagers injured seriously as a high intensity black tornado storm badly ruined three villages Machchraala, Chakraala and Buhadarpura near Head Marala, Sialkot tehsil, falling the electoral constituency (NA 111, Bajwat-Sialkot).
The tornado remained continued about 30 minutes, vanishing almost every thing there. most of the houses (paved and unpaved) were collapsed. Several local people also saw the cars, motorcycles and even the tractor trolleys flying there in the storm. According to the Rescue 1122 Sialkot officials, the local people were busy in their routine activities , when a high intensity black tornado storm suddenly came there and it took the said three villages in grip, damaging all the things including houses (paved and unpaved), Havellies, fields , cattle and people there. The roof tops of more than 90 percent houses and other buildings were flown away or caved in this tornado storm. As many as eight girl students were also injured seriously as their school van was also flown in storm and left thrown there into the far-off fields injuring seriously the minor girl students who were going to their homes after attending school. According to the some eye witnesses, the storm hit these villages with a big bang and loud thunder, as the dozens of the tractor trolleys were flown away and hanged into some trees in out skirts of these villages while the dozens of the trees were also uprooted in this storm. Rescue 1122 officials said that four persons were reportedly died and the dozens of the injured there. Only one deceased has yet been identified as Mehar Ghulam Hussain of village Buhadarpura. The injured were being shifted to local hospitals by rescue 1122 officials and activists of NGO Young Blood Foundation Daska. However, the district administration officials have feared that the death toll could be increased. A large number of the ambulances from Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur, Gujranwala, Wazirabad and Gujrat were called in there in the tornado hit villages near Head Marala, as the rescue operations were briskly underway there.
